i have a 2yr. old pit named hooch and i also have 3 kids. to them she is there sibling. they roll on the floor with her. read books to her. i know that she would lay down her life for any one of us. therfore someone has to stand up for a soul that cant speak for themselves!
As a pitbull owner myself ,I think that this is absolutely ridiculous! Most of the attacks that happen, happen because of careless owners. I do however agree that pitbull’s are powerful dogs and do require special care and attention. I have 2 year old putbull that has been a great dog. I found her on my porch when she was just a puppy and ended up keeping her. I was under the impression that they were aggressive dogs before her but they are also very loyal, protective dogs. I have a 5 month old niece that absolutely loves when my dog is around. She is gentle and loves children.
Back to the topic at hand…
I do agree there should be limitations on ownership and breeding. Not every “Joe Blow” should be able to go out and pick up a pitbull just bc they think they are cool. If you want to be an owner you should have to take an ownership course. I believe this to be true with and domesticated animal. If you get a chance tell people to quit being idiots!!
I could go on for days about this but I will let it rest for now.
