Has Teen Mom 2 crossed a line?
Tuesday, March 29th, 2011
This came up way early in the show and we wanted to know which side you all fall on. Frito watched Teen Mom and got to catch up on Teen Mom 2 last night. He noticed that this crop of moms seem to be WAAAAAY worse than before. And this was before Janelle got arrested yesterday. Alli says the show goes too far and glorifies the “Teen Mom” lifestyle by telling girls that if they have a baby they can become famous. Here’s the discussion from the show. Listen and let us know what you think.

Personally I think it’s a false perspective of teenage life with a baby. Most of these girls (from the very few episodes I’ve watched) have family of some sort that help them out. Real life isn’t like that. Some girls get no help except for a push out the door when the test comes up positive. I don’t think it necessarily glorifies having a baby as a teenager, but it doesn’t show the girls that get disowned and have to ACTUALLY take care of themselves and take responsibility for their actions. What we should be watching is parents that teach their children manners and respect and sense enough to not have sex when they’re not ready… much less have a baby.
