“Limitless” Tops Box Office

The sci-fi thriller Limitless, starring Bradley Cooper as a struggling writer who becomes wildly rich and successful in the financial world after taking a drug that allows him to tap into his brain’s maximum potential, opened in first place at the weekend box office. Co-starring are Robert DeNiro and Abbie Cornish. It ousted last week’s top movie, Battle: Los Angeles, which fell to third place.  Debuting at Number Four was the legal thriller The Lincoln Lawyer, starring Matthew McConaughey as a sleazy defense attorney who conducts his business out of his Lincoln town car. Opening in fifth place was the road trip comedy Paul, about a pot-smoking, smart-mouthed alien — whose voice is provided by actor Seth Rogen.
