Well…that was disappointing. Pia Toscano, Stefano Langone, and Jacob Lusk found themselves in the Bottom Three last night. But, in a TOTAL SHOCKER, it was Pia Toscano that got the boot.
Here’s the video (please note the shower of BOO’s from the audience…that’s what my living room sounded like last night too.):
I know everyone is blaming Pia’s fate on her lack of personality. I understand the argument because, I know deep down that this is not a singing competition, but instead a popularity contest. But, I am so frustrated with this particular elimination.
Pia was one of the BEST…if not THE best…singer in the competition. She did not deserve to go home yet. She just didn’t. I looked forward to her performances every night because she slayed every song she chose. They can create the personality later…that’s what producers and “the music biz” does. Look at Britney Spears…have you ever heard her interviews? She is soooooo BORING. But she’s a superstar. The industry can take a really talented person and add all the glitz and glam later. Pia is like a blank slate…a really beautiful blank slate. In reality, she’s the perfect Idol contestant.
But American didn’t think so…and now she’s out. Unbelievable.
Plus, like I have been saying all season…it is really time for a female winner. You can call me sexist all you want, but I’m right. The past few winners have been guys and guess what…they’re not selling a lot of music. The most successful Idol winners have been Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. Idol needs a diva. Maybe they’ll find it in Lauren Alaina (left). Ladies….she’s our ONLY HOPE. I am so upset about this rediculous elimination that I want to quit Idol completely. But…I’m sure I’ll keep crawling back like I do every week. #Losing
Even the celebs are weighing in:
Tom Hanks: “Don’t have an Idol habit, but how could the USA vote Pia off? I may be done for the season.”
Chris Daughtry: “What the crap? I thought Pia was THE best singer on the show this year!”
Ellen DeGeneres: “I am shocked and so sad.”
