William & Kate adopt a penguin
Prince William and Kate Middleton have adopted their new friend named Acorn. The Chester Zoo gave the new Duke and Duchess a 12-month adoption of the endangered Humboldt penguin for a wedding gift.
They don’t get to take Acorn home with them to live in the Royal Bath Tub, but they can visit him at the zoo anytime. The hope is that the couple will renew the adoption when it ends next year. The adoptions are used as fundraisers for conservation projects.
