Baby Jumping Ceremony
So there’s a festival in Spain every year that involves using babies as hurdles. In the Spanish medieval town of Castrillo De Murcia, the festival of El Colacho has been held since 1620. Thanks to Youtube, we all get to enjoy and probably gasp a little bit….
Now, when you see the guy dressed in yellow running a top speed and then leaping over the babies, he’s said to be saving their souls. It’s part of a pageant for the Feast of Corpus Christi.
It’s definitely not something that we would probably do here in the states, but is it any worse than letting little kids shoot off fireworks when they way too young? I’m not sure. So, what do you think?
