Is This Animal Cruelty?

I (Frito) think this video is a moving example of ingenuity in the face of a challenge. Victims of the Joplin tornado using AN ELEPHANT to clear debris!! WOW!! Not suprised though that some people are crying animal cruelty. What do you think? Is this cruel?

Not cruel at all. In fact, in some countries, elephants are used for the exact purpose. People who scream animal cruelty are in fact clueless when it comes to animals.
As long as the elephant is well fed and cared for, why would this be more cruel than using a draft horse to pull a plow? It’s the same concept and was done for just as long in Asia as using horses to plow in Europe and the Americas. Heck, the elephant is probably getting better exercise than it’s had for years living in the circus. If we want to talk about animal cruelty, having elephants in a circus environment is probably more cruel than using them as draft animals.
