This Weekend is the Final Weekend for the Texas Renaissance Festival!!!

It’s a Celtic Christmas Celebration! at the 37th Annual Texas Renaissance Festival (www.texrenfest.com), the largest and most acclaimed Renaissance festival in the nation.

Join us for a special THREE DAY CLOSING WEEKEND, November 25, 26 & 27, for a Celtic Christmas Celebration. New Market Village sparkles with a variety of festive holiday lights & decorations as the Royal Family welcomes Father Christmas and his elves and ushers in Yuletide spirits to celebrate the holiday season!  As part of the closing weekend celebration, the festival will be open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day.

“The festival has witnessed record attendance this season and as a thank you to our loyal patrons, we wanted to do something special for our final weekend this season,” said Terre Albert, general manager.  “We are extending our hours of operation to 8 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, we are adding some exciting holiday-themed elements to our programming including photos with Father Christmas and his elves, and offering great holiday shopping specials throughout the weekend.  This is a great alternative to being stuck at a mall over Thanksgiving weekend and it allows people to spend quality time with friends and family in a festive environment.”

With the extended hours, patrons can enjoy a full day of hundreds of holiday-themed performances, festive feasting & libations, the Royal Joust, petting zoo, elephant & camel rides, face painting, Royal Dance School and tons of activities for kids of all ages!  Take part in daily competitions including Christmas Scavenger Hunts, Guess the Present Contests & Pumpkin Pie Eating Contests.  Contests are open to kids and adults each day.

As part of the closing weekend events, be sure to catch the stars of National Geographic Channel’s newest television reality show, Knights of Mayhem (www.natgeotv.com/knights) who will perform at the Royal Joust Arena daily.  The Knights of Mayhem will also be on-hand each day for meet and greet sessions where they will give out free DVDs of the premier episode of the new show.
