Before and After the Joplin Tornado

Thanks to Sabra and Sunday for joining us on the show today. Both of them live in Joplin, MO and survived the 2011 tornado that leveled the city. Sabra’s sister barely escaped with her life. She hid in a crawl space under her bathroom. Here’s a pic of her house before the storm.

Hello, this is Ashley, Sabra’s sister. This was my home. Thank you for sharing my story. It was such a traumatic experience, but we are working through it. We have rebuilt our home. Everybody in Joplin joined together as a family. And to all the amazing people who sent supplies from all over the country we all thank you! The people that worked so hard to help us clean up and get supplies to everyone was such a blessing. It brings tears to my eyes to know that there is still that type of kindness in the world. And I think I speak for everyone in Joplin when I say we can never thank you enough for all you did to help us!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! With many thanks, Ashley C.
