To Commemorate the 88th Anniversary of the Victoria Advocate, the Victoria Newspaper, Popeye’s creator sent a letter in to the Paper as Popeye, “Please accept me hearties’ bes’ wishes and felicitations…”  “Victoria is me ol’ hometown, on account thats where I got born’d  at.”
