Church of Nazarene Garage Sale

Bryan Church of the Nazarene is hosting it's annual Garage Sale, this Saturday, May 19th from 8am to 1pm.  All proceeds go to help children go to camp.

Honey Deal Days Arts & Craft Show

Friends of Grimes County, a non-profit group that is raising funds to help youth and seniors, is hosting a Honey Deal Days Arts & Crafts Show fundraiser from 10 a.m.-5 p.m on Saturday, May 19 and Sunday, May 20 at the Grimes County Expo Center in Navasota.  The group is currently attempting to raise funds to purchase a new van for the Grimes Health Resource Center, which provides free transportation for health related needs to homebound residents.  Honey Deal Days will feature vendors selling furniture, home goods, jewelry, food, floral, clothing, makeup, hair feathers, iron works, glassware, etc.  Admission to the event is $5.

Starlight Music Series

Plan to join your family and friends for free entertainment during the Starlight Music Series. Residents and visitors can load up their picnic baskets, coolers, blankets and lawn chairs for a night under the stars at the Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater.

The Aggie-STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Center at Texas A&M University will host the third annual Aggie STEM Summer Camp for middle and high school students June 10 through 22.  The camp will give students real world experiences in STEM education through inquiry learning, improve SAT scores and provide a world-class university experience with Texas A&M professors actively working in STEM fields.  Students will attend non-credit STEM classes by Texas A&M professors, robotics classes, rocketry classes, PSAT/SAT prep classes and a variety of social activities and local field trips.   Registration closes June 5th.  Go to aggie-stem.tamu.edu/summercamp to register.

Safe Sitter Courses at The Med

The College Station Medical Center is offering Safe Sitter courses for teens ages 11 and up, from 9am – 5pm on Saturday, May 19th, June 16th, July 14th and August 11th.  Safe Sitters students get hand on practice in lifesaving techniques designed to prepare babysitters to act in an emergency.  Students will learn CPR, basic first aid and how to perform infant and child choking rescue.  To enroll in a Safe Sitter class call Barbara Williams at 979-764-5252.
