Russell Brand is a wanted man.
Former Mr. Katy Perry has a $700 misdemeanor warrant out for his arrest after he was caught throwing a paparazzo’s iPhone through a window in New Orleans earlier this week.
The photog, Timothy Jackson, claims he was following Brand on Monday when the actor approached Jackson’s car, snatched his cell phone and flung it through the window of nearby law firm.
Though Brand’s actions are considered criminal damage to property, leave it to him to crack a joke about the matter and name-drop at the same time.
He took to Twitter Wednesday to psuedo-apologize for throwing the paparazzo’s iPhone. Russell tweeted, “Since Steve Jobs died I cannot bear to see anyone use an iphone irreverently, what I did was a tribute to his memory,” he wrote.
Brand did contact the law office and offered to pay for the window, though an employee from the law firm said the replacement ended up being paid for by Lamb Productions.
