One of the greatest movies about music ever is This Is Spinal Tap. It is now celebrating it’s 20th Anniversary!
If you haven’t seen it, you should rectify that ASAP! It was a mockumentary before mockumentary’s were cool. A movie following a fake band around the world as they shared their stories from the road and the tragedies that always befall their drummer. What’s not to love about that?!
Even if you haven’t seen the movie, you probably know one of the best gags from the film, “Turn it up to 11.”
You ask most any band touring today and more often than not, you’ll find that they have this movie in their DVD collection on their bus. It’s one of those movies that has bands becoming very aware of their “Spinal Tap Moments.” I might try to do a feature with some of the country bands that are coming through town asking about their moments.
UltimateClassicRock.com has already started their own Spinal Tap Stories page. Check it out here.
You know any stories about your favorite musical acts that would make for a great Spinal Tap Moment? Let me know on Facebook or Twitter!

So the Oscars were last night. I know that many people were tuned in and watching Ellen Degeneres host and other celebs give out statues to other celebs for them being so good in whatever role they were winning for. Me though, I was watching the last couple of episodes of Breaking Bad.
You may be asking “Why Adam? Why weren’t you watching?!” Truth is I didn’t see any of the movies nominated for anything. With a 2 year old kid at home, it’s hard to break away and go check out new movies. My Oscars nominations would have looked a little like this:
- The Avengers – WINNER
- Thor 2
- Lone Survivor
- This Is The End
- Man of Steel
- Monsters University
- Robert Downy Jr. as Iron Man – The Avengers
- Mark Ruffalo & CGI as The Hulk – The Avengers
- Marky Mark as Marcus Luttrell – Lone Survivor
- Tom Hiddleston as Loki – Thor 2 and The Avengers – WINNER
- Natalie Portman as Jane Foster – Thor 2 – Winner
And well that’d pretty much be the end of it. I’m relegated these days to watching mostly superhero movies. I’m a giant comic book nerd, so I don’t mind at all, but there are a ton of movies I WISH I had seen, just never had the chance to.
What movie did I miss out on that I should check out on Netflix?

Man, it’s been a long two weeks! I’m so glad to be part of the Candy 95 family and had an amazing time hanging with Frito and Katy for Morning Candy, but between us, I’ll be glad to sleep in past 5! This was my last day with them because Monday March 3rd, I’ll be taking over Candy nights.
Today was also the day for Chilifest team sing-ups. When I pulled into Callaway Villas, there were about 500 people waiting in line, many of whom camped out overnight to make sure their team got a prime spot. Candy 95 never passes on an opportunity to party, so we showed up with some free goodies for the folks!
All the team captains headed upstairs to get signed up and one of the first things they see is something that I wanted to run off with and throw in my truck!
Yes, a Chilifest Yeti! That thing would look sweet sitting in my truck next to a carseat and Winnie the Pooh teddy bear my son leaves in my truck, right??
In the middle of the live broadcast, the new #Selfie song comes on and I was requested to take a selfie for the Chilifest sign up, so…
Yeah, so I guess I’m now a weird selfie guy. But I did capture that logo and hat like a champ right?
So there’s the first half of my Friday. Got an interview with Whiskey Myers coming up later this afternoon and their show tonight. Busy, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
Don’t forget to join me starting Monday at 6P as I’ve got some great stuff lined up!

I have no shame to say that I thoroughly enjoyed doing the Disney Sing Along with Morning Candy over the last couple of weeks. Yes, playing some Little Mermaid and Aladdin music made me smile ear to ear and sing along.
Guy, girl, young old, come on, you’ve gotta admit you love some Disney songs and you sing along to them when you hear them. They’ll take you back to your childhood and make ya remember that simpler time.
What is your favorite Disney movie?
