Has anyone ever said to you that “you look an awful lot like your mother/father??”
In a new approach to taking family photos, one artist by the name of Ulric Collette is taking this literally! It’s super creepy, yet very interesting.
Artist Ulric Collette’s spliced family portraits affirm that it’s not your imagination. Looking at the pictures he creates by merging portraits of two close relatives, you can see how their genetic overlap creates striking visual echoes across decades and genders. Strangely, some siblings morphed into one face appear to be more identical than twins. Flavorwire jokingly calls them Franken-photos.
The first image in Collette’s “Genetic Portrait” series, which he began in 2008, was a happy accident. “I was trying other things with a picture of me and a picture of my son,” he tells Shine, “and this happened.” Instead of aging his son using his own features as he intended, the result was a fascinating mash-up of two faces that share much of the same DNA. He posted the image on the photo sharing website Flickr, and it went viral. “I started using pictures of other family members and the project took off from there.”

Ri-Ri premiered her new short hair look at the VMA’s last Thursday night and now she’s showing off her breasts. Well, sort of.
The singer, who is no stranger to going under the needle, showed off her latest (and pretty large) tattoo today on Twitter, and shared that it was dedicated to her late grandmother.
Goddess Isis- Complete Woman – Model for future generations- #GRANGRANDOLLY – always in and on my heart #1love,” she tweeted.
Ri-Ri’s body art shows Isis, with her throne-shaped headdress, bent down on one knee with her wings spread out under the singer’s breasts. Isis is the ancient Egyptian goddess of rebirth and is one of the most common images of empowered femininity.

Saturday Night Live adds 3 new cast members

When Saturday Night Live returns to NBC for its 38th season (this Saturday, September 15th) expect to see 3 new faces.

Deals for Aidy Bryant and Tim Robinson, rumored late last week, were made official, while sketch veteran Cecily Strong will also join the cast.
Bryant is a Second City E.T.C. Stage alum, and performed at Chicago’s Annoyance Theater.
Robinson, who also has a role in Christopher Mintz-Plasse‘s CBS’ midseason comedy, Friend Me, performed with Second City’s Mainstage and National Touring Company.
Strong also worked with the Touring Company, and trained at iO Chicago, where Bryant received her training.
SNL is facing a bit of a reboot, as long-time favorite stars Kristen Wiig and Andy Samberg officially left the show after last season. It was recently announced that Abby Elliott is exiting the show, as well. Wiig and Samberg have moved to film full time, while Elliott has an arc on How I Met Your Mother.
Seth MacFarlane, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Daniel Craig will serve as this season’s first three hosts.
