Blame the food engineers in chain restaurant kitchens, who are tricking out the simple burger until it has more fleshy extras than Madonna’s stage show. In fact, burgers can be a healthy and satisfying dose of protein, if you know what to look for—and what to avoid.
Without knowledge of these facts above, I’ve actually eaten both #6 and #1. My jaw dropped when I saw that the Jalapeño Smokehouse Bacon Burger equaled nearly 2,000 calories! Less jalapeño, more cholesterol is what this really says.

To put together our list of best cities for singles, we took into account income and living costs. The cities that made the final cut boast household income levels well above the Census Bureau average of $49,536. The cost-of-living score–derived from Council for Community and Economic Research data–indicates essential costs, including rent. A high score is acceptable as long as it’s offset by attractive incomes and a strong dating pool.
We screened cities based on the percentage of unmarried households because many otherwise great places to live are heavily populated by happily wedded couples, not swinging singles. We limited our list to cities with unmarried households comfortably above the average of 49.4%.
Finally, we added what we dubbed a date-night tab: the average cost of two movie tickets plus a bottle of wine. Use the amount to budget for your next night out. Take a tour of our top-10 cities for singles.

“Jeremy, Hope you’re having a great time getting to know BCS. I have a Brazos valley sighting for you. Last night my girlfriends and I went to the Tap for piano bar night. This guy who works behind the bar took my drink order, a vodka/cranberry. His smile made me do a double take. I noticed he didn’t have a ring on so I flirted a little. I didn’t catch his name though. I was wondering if anyone might know who he is? He has brown hair, a pretty smile, around 6 ft tall, good build and he was wearing a tight-fitted t-shirt. If anyone knows who this is I would love to know more about him. He seemed like a great guy.
