Posting these segments because it may be the hardest I’ve laughed on the show in a while. Every Monday the crew from Brazos Valley This Morning come hang for the 9am hour. Today we decided to talk about something that apparently we all (except Steve) do. 70-80% of people admit to regularly sneaking snacks into movie theatres. Most of us smuggle in the usual stuff (Candy, light snacks, drinks). Shel and I however go big. Full meals. Burritos, Sandwiches, Taco Bell. I’m a big fan of sneaking in “Adult Capri Suns” aka Target Wine Single Serve packets (best idea EVER!!!).
Some of the things you guys have snuck in though took the cake. Enjoy:
Thanks to the guys for coming in today. Had a blast! Also, remember to watch us on KBTX Monday’s at 6:20 for The Buzz. Here’s a link to today’s segment. I accidently hit the wrong button so the whole thing played on Candy 95 too. Oops. Watch the video to see the look of shame and dissapointment cross my face when Chace let me know about it. The ensuing panic made me hit another button which I’m pretty sure caused the awkward silence near the end of the segment too.
I’ll get better at TV. I promise! –Frito
Rest in peace to the godfather of Fitness. Jack LaLanne is basically the reason we have personal trainers, Biggest Loser, P90X, and anything else. He also was an inventor of numerous workout machines and a advocate for healthy eating. His juicer is still a GIANT seller. He was also famous for his INSANE feats of strength. Here’s a great article about his top all time displays of athletic power!
Hitting the gym in honor of Jack Lalanne today!
This is one of my fave things BBC Radio does with artist interviews. The artist has to perform one song by someone other than them. Most of the time it’s a song that’s popular right now. Bruno Mars just recently did California Gurls and is getting great reviews. The full version is below. Totally different feel to the song. Check it out!
Amazing, right? Here are some others. First one from the listeners: someone texted in that I should check this out when we were talking about the Bruno cover. Here’s 30 Seconds to Mars doing Bad Romance:
Here’s Paramore putting their spin on Kings of Leon’s Use Somebody:
And this has nothing to do with BBC, but as long as we’re talking covers and Kings of Leon I have to post the Sugarland cover of Sex on Fire (which I think is actually better than the KOL version).
I’m posting it for the same reason I played it. To show that A-List stars have had substance abuse issues LOOOOONG before Charlie Sheen.
The following speech was given to some ROTC students at UCLA. The Duke had obviously had a few too many.
NSFW WARNING: Lot’s of curse words to follow.
“For personal reasons, I’ve checked myself into a rehab clinic. With 2011 being a busy year for Backstreet, I want to be healthy and at my best. Thank you for all of your support and respecting my family and friends’ privacy during this time.”
TMZ is saying that AJ relapsed a while ago and his addiction was starting to interfere with his work on the NKOTBSB Tour. They went on to say that AJ spent most of last month’s Backstreet Boys Cruise drinking and on the influence of drugs.
