Lauren Alaina had some advice for rejects of America’s Got Talent while on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” last night… Turns out, she got rejected from the show! TWICE!
Who likes Glee?! How bout American Idol?! If you like ‘em both, check out AI’s season 9′s Todrick Hall, and his campaign to be on Glee! I fully support this!
Also, he has an AMAZING “It Gets Better” song/video. Check it out. Like.. now.
Congratulations to Scotty McCreery, the Season 10 American Idol! If you missed the show last night, watch the winner announcement and Scotty singing his new single “I Love You This Big” in the video below.
Cute-Boy-Theory prevails. Will we EVER have a female Idol again? Tell us what you think. Did America get it right?
Tim Halperin posted this video of Scotty from before they found out their Top 40 fate. As soon as I saw this, it sealed the deal for me. I want Scotty to win.
He’s so humble, down to Earth, and hilarious! Plus- HELLA talented. I think the only thing that sucks is we probably won’t ever play his music on Candy. Hmph.
PS- who do YOU want to win?!
It’s down to the Final Two on Idol Season 10. On last night’s episode the season’s two youngest contestants, Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina, battled it out to become the American Idol. Obviously, this final round was chock full of country hits. But who will take home the title? Watch the videos of the performances below, then let us know what you think!

Alli’s Opinion: I really WANT Lauren Alaina to win it all! But, I fear that “Cute-Boy-Syndrome” will prevail and Scotty will claim the Idol title. So my official pick is Soctty for the win. Either way, pretty good show last night…and no matter who wins, the country music scene better make room for a couple new superstars!
EB’s opinion: I disagree with Alli, so obviously I have to chime in! TEAM SCOTTY ALL THE WAY! I don’t think he has a chance because the producers totally rigged it with everything they did last night and the choice of singles for them, but I think he’s the one who will be more successful, by a landslide. Plus, there’s this.
According to TMZ, the finalists are each pulling down $1,000 per show, and they’ll also be given $50 in spending money on their off-days. There are 47 dates on the tour and 20 off-days. That makes their summer total close to $8,000 each!
In addition, all of the travel expenses will be covered. They are “guaranteed to stay in ‘Marriott / Hyatt style’ hotel accommodations while on the road and will fly coach between tour stops.”
I’m sayin’ that’s pretty good for two months of work!
It’s hard to believe we’re already down to the Final Three contestants! The Idol hopefuls sang three songs each:
Round 1 – Contestant’s Choice
Round 2 – Jimmy Iovine’s Choice
Round 3 – Judges’ Choice

Alli’s Opinion: It was an interesting night because each contestant had one particularly stong round. Round One without question went to Haley (even though the tripped up the stairs). She picked a difficult song and ROCKED it! Plus, having her dad on stage with her on national TV must have been a dream come true for them both. Round Two has to go to Scotty. He sang “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not” like it was his very own single. And finally…Round Three. I WANT to say that this round went to Haley because I love “You Oughta Know” and the thought of Haley singing that song is just awesome…but it didn’t pan out exactly as I imagined it. So…Lauren gets the win in Round Three. “I Hope You Dance” fits her character perfectly, so she was really able to sing it with honesty.
All that said…it makes it really hard to say who goes and who stays.
My Prediction for the Finale: Scotty and Haley showdown!
Last night on American Idol, rocker James Durbin was eliminated.
The remaining three contestants are Haley Reinhart, Lauren Alaina and Scotty McCreery. They will go back to their hometowns this week to meet the fans before returning to sing three songs and compete for the title of THE American Idol.
Lady Gaga was the mentor on American Idol, making her the most distracting mentor in history.
Once I saw her, I couldn’t get the horrific image out of my head! Seriously… Could she at least try to look somewhat pleasing to the eyes?!
I’m sorry for giving you nightmares.
On a lighter, much more hilarious note- Apparently she had on “female tools” as shoes.. bahaha
The Idol hopefuls sang two songs (one that inspires them and one by Lieber and Stoller). It was an important night, not only because it’s the Final Four, but also because they are all competing for the Hometown Visit next week. Check out the performances below:

Alli’s Idol Recap & Prediction:
James Durbin: James chose Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” and he sang it really well. For me, I can’t imagine that song as anything but karaoke. So, I really couldn’t take it seriously as a performance. Either way, he nailed the high notes as usual. Then….James chose the cheese-tastic “Love Potion #9″ and turned it in to an unexpectedly solid performance. J-Lo said it best, “With that song, you just proved that you can sing ANYthing.”
Haley Reinhart: Poor Haley…Her “inspirational” song choice was just uninspired. I would advise any Idol contestant to avoid singing any Michael Jackson song unless it is required by the theme. No matter what…you just don’t live up to the orginal. However, her second song “I Who Have Nothing” was one of the most amazing things on the show this season. Why is she so inconsistent?? It scares me. I don’t want Haley to go home…
Scotty McCreery: Talk about timely song choice! Alan Jackson’s “Where Were You” could not have been a more perfect song to speak to the whole country in the week following the death of bin Laden. But not only that — he sang “the perfect song” in the most perfect way. Scotty’s second choice “Youngbloods” was really fun. We got to see the goofy, playful side of him in contrast to the serious, thoughtful side earlier in the night. It was a good night for Scotty. But he wasn’t going anywhere anyway.
Lauren Alaina: Lauren’s first performance of the evening was way better than the second. She sang Martina McBride’s “Anyway” and it suited her perfectly. Plus, she knocked those power notes right outta the park. During her second performance, she was a little intimidated by the “evil” lyrics. She still performed it well, especially at the beginning when she exploded out of the back of the stage. She lost me a little at the end. Was it me, or did it seem like she may have ran herself out of breath?
Who’s going home: No one deserves to go home tonight. These four contestants are just rediculously great, but I have to choose one. My prediction is Lauren Alaina. I think Haley’s fans will vote hard tonight because the judges gave her such a hard time tonight. Lauren has been a favorite the whole season…but I think that puts her in a dangerous posistion because her fans may assume she’s safe. I’m predicting “The Daughtry Effect” for Lauren.
