Hire Me 2023

CANDY 95: Mid-days & Morning Co-Host

Hi there, my name is Rob Mack. I’m the Operations Manager of Bryan Broadcasting, and the Program Director of Candy 95, an award-winning CHR station.

Candy 95 in Bryan/College Station, TX currently has TWO full-time on-air openings.
-Mid-days to host a top, listener-engaged 10am to 3pm show
-Morning co-host to plug in across from Ted from 6am to 10am each weekday.

I believe in hiring friendly, likeable, talented people who want to come work with us in Aggieland, live from our studios in College Station. You should like and enjoy current CHR music in 2023, be comfortable interacting with listeners on-air, online, and in person, and want to work for the #1 rated station in the market (who doesn’t want that?)

There will be plenty of video elements to go along with your on-air content. We are currently installing cameras in our studios, so we can repurpose our on-air content across our digital properties…so you should be comfortable in front of a camera, too.

In addition to on-air, what other skills can you bring to the table? It’s radio in 2023, we all know about those “hats” to wear. We’d love to have someone who knows some basics of video editing and/or creating graphics. Maybe creating effective, exciting imaging is more your thing. Having said that…it’s not like other places. There aren’t 28 blogs to write every day, or 15 other generic shows to track. We won’t stomp your passion for radio out of you.

In fact, our owner works in our building and will know your name. You’ll see him here each day. We have a full-slate of radio stations, and people who work for them. We also have 8 local publications. Everyone here is passionate about the radio business, and for making our community a better place to live. B/CS is a rapidly growing area, home to Texas A&M University. Our signal covers 300,000+ and we are a short drive to Houston, Austin, D/FW, and San Antonio.

The salary? Likely better than similar-sized markets. Hey, I’m 37…putting salary in job ads is still weird to me…but let’s talk about it.

TO APPLY, SEND ME:
-A subject line stating which position you are interested in
-Recent aircheck highlighting your work
-Your resume
-Your social media username(s)

There are a few of us at the station with access to that e-mail, but I am the person who checks it most regularly.
Timeline? Well, I want to find the best person. So, it might be open for 3 weeks, or 3 months. Having said that…don’t delay too much.
