Insider – The McGuires are back together.”Lizzie McGuire“original cast members Hallie Todd, Robert Carradine, and Jake Thomas are set to reprise their roles as Jo, Sam and Matt McGuire on the upcoming Disney Plus sequel series, joining previously announced star Hilary Duff as Lizzie.
This week, the cast of the hit Disney Channel comedy convened for the first time in 15 years for a read-through of the first episode of the sequel.
The new “Lizzie McGuire” comes from the original series’ creator Terri Minsky and Disney Channel.
“We are incredibly excited to bring back one of the most popular Disney Channel series of all time along with some beloved and familiar faces,” said Ricky Strauss, president, Content & Marketing, Disney Plus. “With Terri at the helm and Hilary, Hallie, Robert, and Jake back after all these years, it’s our honor to welcome the McGuire family into the Disney Plus family.”
The new story picks up as Lizzie McGuire (Duff) is just about to turn 30.
