An 11 year old from El Dorado, Kansas has a rare genetic disease that doesn’t allow him to do one simple thing all kids love to do….Play outside. Peyton Madden has a disease that makes him allergic to sunlight. His skin can’t repair itself after sun exposure so he spends a lot of time inside.
The people of El Dorado decided they were going to give Peyton a day outside so he could be a kid. So with the help of the National Organization for Rare Disorders, they created a day for Peyton where nighttime became daytime and he got to play outside without any of his protective gear. He got to ride his bike, swim in the pool, eat snacks, and just be a regular kid.
