It’s clear that Fergie’s unforgettable performance of the National Anthem at the NBA All Star game didn’t sit well with everyone. The singer has been under harsh criticism, even becoming a trending topic on Twitter. The former Black Eyed Peas singer finally broke her silence and issued an apology to TMZ saying
“I’ve always been honoured and proud to perform the national anthem and last night I wanted to try something special for the NBA. I’m a risk taker artistically, but clearly this rendition didn’t strike the intended tone. I love this country and honestly tried my best.”
The difference between Fergie & Mariah is many things, but also that Mariah would never apologize.

Who wants to live in a world where you have to apologize for taking creative risks?
You do you @Fergie

Ok, now I feel bad. Don't apologize Fergie. We're the ones who were too cruel. https://t.co/QF3G86j9pc
