With this being the premiere appearance for new head coach Jimbo Fisher, a lot of people are unhappy. Not to mention the timing people are also upset with the lack of competition.
Either way the SEC made the announcement on Tuesday (2/27) afternoon. Kick off will be Thursday, August 30th at 7:30 pm CST at Kyle Field and you’ll be able to watch on the SEC Network.
Texas A&M’s football season opener vs. Northwestern State has been moved to Thursday, August 30 and will be televised on the SEC Network. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 pm CT / 8:30 pm ET at Kyle Field in College Station.

We really can't get Rice, SMU, or UTSA for these cupcake non con games (To keep some sort of connection to Texas teams alive). Or at least play a FBS team.
