‘Black Panther’ becomes first comic book movie to be nominated for Best Picture at the Golden Globe Awards.

Marvel Studios has scored its first nomination in the Best Motion Picture – Drama category at the 2019 Golden Globes for “Black Panther,” which also marked the first time a superhero movie has been nominated in that category.

Best Drama wasn’t the film’s only nomination. It also reviewed a nod for Best Original Score and Best Original Song, going up against A Quiet PlaceIsle of DogsFirst Man, and Mary Poppins Returns. Black Panther’s score was composed by Ludwig Göransson, who is a Childish Gambino collaborator and is credited for scoring multiple films, including Creed and Venom.
