American’s Biggest Fears

“What is your biggest fear?” is a pretty common conversation topic among people. It is also a question that is very subjective with a lot of different answers, none more right than the others.

If someone were to ask me that question I would have a hard time deciding between snakes and flying. Both of them scare the snot out of me!

According to Yahoo.com, a random sample of 1,500 people said these were their Top 5 Fears:

  1. Walking alone at night
  2. Becoming the victim of identity theft
  3. Lack of safety on the Internet
  4. Being the victim of a mass/random shooting
  5. Public speaking

When people were asked about issues that were not as immediate they said they were more concerned. Here are the Top 5 Concerns for Americans:

  • Having identity stolen on the Internet
  • Corporate surveillance of Internet activity
  • Running out of money in the future
  • Government surveillance of Internet activity
  • Becoming ill/sick
