A 64-year-old Army vet named Mike Hicks broke his back about a year-and-a-half ago rendering him paralyzed from the waist down and confined to a wheelchair. Well he was in Hawaii last week with his wife and wanted to dip his feet in the ocean so a local lifeguard, Hizson Keali’I, offered to help him out.
But then when the two met up again a few days later, Keali’I brought a stand-up paddleboard and took Mike surfing!
