Ryan Lochte has lost his sponsorship deals with Speedo and Ralph Lauren among others. Those sponsorships were worth around $1 million a year, and that’s money he needs to pay for training for the 2020 games in Tokyo. IF the U.S. Olympic Committee doesn’t dump him, that is.
Meanwhile, he’s now saying it was WRONG of him to call what happened to him in Rio a robbery. Lochte talked to “People” magazine, and he’s finally dropping the “robbery” angle. He said, quote, “I made that up. The part that I made up was saying that it was a robbery.”
Lochte already called his three other teammates to apologize and he’s going to pay the $11,000 that James Feigen had to fork over to leave Brazil.
