Madison Mau is the Valedictorian of her 10-student graduating class in Fayetteville, Texas and had always dreamed of attending the University of Texas. UT has an admissions policy requiring it to accept all students in the top 7% of their class. However, it’s mathematically impossible for Mau’s class to have that percentile so she was denied admittance.
Not happy with her rejection, Madison sought the aide of her Superintendent, local legislators, and Governor Greg Abbott, and fought to have the University change their rules. And they did!
Madison was accepted into the class of 2021 at the University of Texas. But amid the confusion of her future Madison decided to explore other options just in case. And guess what….
“She’ll be attending Texas A&M this fall.”
