Bento the Keyboard Cat has Died

If internet memes didn’t already make you feel old then living long enough to see them pass away will.

Bento the Keyboard Cat, for many, was probably one of the original videos that introduced us to the now prevalent meme culture. While Bento wasn’t actually the original Keyboard Cat, he represented the meme to it’s audience through social media. Bento lost his battle to liver cancer on March 8th at the age of 9.

The original video was taken in 1987 by Charlie Schmidt of his cat Fatso who died more than 20 years ago. Charlie was the owner of both cats.
