Police officials told TMZ that the singer died by suicide (hanging) and was found in his home in L.A. County on Thursday morning (7/20).
Bennington had a history of drug and alcohol earlier in his life that possibly stemmed from child abuse.
Chester is survived by his wife and six children.

Chester was one of the kindest men I've had on my show. My heart breaks for his family and friends. He will be missed terribly.
