A 93-year-old World War Two veteran named Norwood Thomas lives in Virginia Beach and when he was on leave in London in 1945 he started dating a British woman named Joyce.
Apparently they dated for a few months until he had to come back to the U.S. when the war ended. Then he wrote her a letter asking her to come to America and marry him but she misread it and thought he said he was already married.
So she broke things off they eventually married other people and they never saw each other again. Until Joyce decided to track him down recently.
She’s 88 now, lives in Australia, and got divorced a while back. So a few weeks ago she asked her son to find Norwood online. And last Friday they got on Skype and talked for the first time in 70 years!!
