After a judge refused to let Kesha out of her contract with Dr. Luke’s label at Sony, Demi Lovato responded with a series of Tweets about female empowerment

Frustrating to see women come forward with their past only to be shot down, not believed & disrespected for their bravery in taking action

Someone tell me why anyone would ever feel brave enough to come forward if they are most likely to be ignored or called a liar?

Taylor Swift didn’t say anything publicly but instead sent Kesha $250,000… and Demi may have had a problem with that.
She Tweeted, quote, “Take something to Capitol Hill or actually speak out about something and then I’ll be impressed.” Then, she reportedly engaged with one of Taylor’s fans, who saw that as a dis.

She said, quote, “I didn’t shade Taylor. If you take it that way than fine. I’m just tired of seeing women use ‘women empowerment’ and ‘feminism’ to further brands without actually being the ones that have the uncomfortable conversations.”
She added, quote, “Not everyone has $250,000 to just give to people . . . I didn’t grow up with money, and I definitely haven’t made as much as her. At least I speak up about [crap] that’s uncomfortable, rather than trying to be P.C. 24/7.”
To Taylor’s credit, TMZ reports that Kesha DOES need the money.”
Last night, Demi continued talking about the situation on Instagram. Here’s the latest.
