According to a recent survey by IllicitEncounters.com, Tuesday February 12 is the top day of 2019 to get dumped. Dubbed ‘Red Tuesday’, it seems more couples split in the week of Valentine’s Day than at any other time of the year.
The peak dumping time is exactly two days before the big day, with most people opting to dump their partners by text.Other popular dumping methods include ending over a phone call and doing the deed face to face.
Why do so many couples break up at this time?
It appears that one of the reasons people choose to ditch their significant others at Valentine’s Day is to save money on a gift. Others claim they choose to end their relationships to avoid being pressured into a false declaration of love.
