New York Post – With the cameras rolling, Shawn Mendes is exposing who he really is in his new Netflix documentary, “In Wonder.”
In a trailer released Tuesday, the Canadian singer, 22, strips down and soaps up in the shower as he reveals how he started out as a performer.
“Is it hard to protect that pure thing that started it all?” a voice off-camera asks, as Mendes sullenly nods.
“You first get on the stage and ego comes rushing in,” he explains. “I’m just a guy and I love music. Time to surrender.”
The documentary, which is slated to be released Nov. 23 on the streaming platform, follows Mendes on his most recent tour, as he traveled to North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia. The TIFF special event selection also features footage from his early life as he sheds light on his personal “journey toward self-discovery.”
