Star Cinema Grill Reopening Theater July 10

Houston Chronicle – Houston-based Star Cinema Grill is reopening all of its theaters over the next several weeks with the Cypress location returning to business Friday. That will be followed by the Richmond theater on June 12, Springwoods and Missouri City June 19, Conroe June 26, Vintage Park July 3 and College Station July 10.

Star Cinema Grill’s Baybrook theater was the first in the chain to reopen in early May following Gov. Greg Abbott’s relaxation on shutdown rules put in place to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

As there aren’t many new movies to screen, the theaters will be showing such older movies as “The Bourne Identity,” “Creed II,” “Jumanji: The Next Level,” “Trolls World Tour,” and “Knives Out.” Tickets are $5 and available through the Star Cinema Grill app.

“Since we opened our Baybrook location several weeks ago, guest reaction has been great, and we feel ready to open the rest of our theaters as quickly and safely as possible,” vice-president John Walsh said in a release. “We have the advantage of lessons learned being one of the first theaters in the country to reopen.”

The theaters will still be serving food though there is now a new feature on the app allowing ordering from your phone so the server doesn’t need to make close contact in the process.
