Hollywood Reporter – The Batman has pressed pause on its London production after star Robert Pattinson tested positive for COVID-19, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter. Warner Bros. would not comment specifically on the individual who tested positive on set.
“A member of The Batman production has tested positive for Covid-19, and is isolating in accordance with established protocols,” a Warner Bros. spokesperson said in a statement Thursday. “Filming is temporarily paused.”
Vanity Fair first reported the news of Pattinson testing positive for COVID-19.
Filming on The Batman has resumed this week after it shut down in mid-March amid the coronavirus pandemic, which closed productions worldwide. The first trailer debuted last month at DC FanDome to strong reactions.
Matt Reeves is directing The Batman, which stars Pattinson as The Dark Knight, Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Paul Dano as Riddler, Colin Farrell as the Penguin, John Turturro as crime boss Carmine Falcone, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred and Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham City DA Gil Colson.
The Batman is due out Oct. 1, 2021.
