“THE BEST OF ME” REVIEW

I am a huge movie fan! I know some people go on dates to the movies just because it is an easy option. However, I get a lot of enjoyment from watching movies at the theatre, I go to the movies at least once a week.

That being said, this past Sunday I went to go see the adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’s “The Best of Me”. From what I saw on the trailers I was expecting a newer version of the Notebook. However, I was pleasantly surprised and actually enjoyed the movie. I wouldn’t say that it was one of the best Romance movies I have seen but it was decent.

The thing I did not like about it, is the constant pounding of dramatic emotion. It was one event after another, injury, death, cheating, divorce, car wreck, death. I felt like I was getting beat up the whole movie and I felt like the director was throwing everything he could at me to try to get me to cry. Now for the positives, there was a pretty good plot and some great morals and themes of love, commitment, and happiness.

MY SCORE: C+
