A humpback whale was spotted off the coast of California last week tangled in hundreds of feet of crab-fishing line and buoys.
A team of researchers spotted it near Santa Barbara but it kept evading them before they could cut it free.
Luckily it showed up again off the coast of San Diego on Saturday.
Now… Sea World hasn’t gotten much good press since the“Blackfish” documentary came out a few years ago.
Whether they’re doing it out of sincerity or for the good PR… they came through on this one.
A team from Sea World was able to cut away almost all of the line before it swam off again and they said the stuff that’s still attached isn’t endangering its life in any way.
