Consequence of Sound – A socially distanced concert took place in the UK on Tuesday evening, which saw the audience sat in designated areas.
Sam Fender fans turned up at the UK’s first socially distant concert held at the Virgin Money Unity Arena in Newcastle, which aimed to ensure concert-goers are able to enjoy live music again, as well as adhering to safety guidelines.
Metal barriers were set up in the arena, all positioned two metres from one another, with only five people allowed in each penned off area during the concert.

The 500 socially distanced penned off areas included a table, chairs and a mini fridge so that concert goers could have a comfortable and enjoyable experience during the gig.
A one way system was also in place, which saw attendees guided to their designated areas in a safe and controlled manner.
It seems like this new socially distant set up did not upset too many music fans as they realized that this may be the future of attending concerts and outdoor events for the time being.
