I am one of those people that call things like I see them. When I feel someone deserves credit I give it to them, when they need to be criticized I will be the first one to jump on them. The whole Jonas Brothers or “Jo-Bros” thing never worked for me. They were just the next group of good looking guys that were able to cash in on the teen girls demographic. I thought there music was corny and very cookie cutter and I sort of wrote them off as a joke in my mind.
Since then, they have split up or stopped making music as the Jonas Brothers. Now Nick Jonas has gone out on his own and currently his single “Jealous” is doing really well. To be honest I never gave him a chance when I saw his name attached to the song, I tuned him out, assuming he was going to capitalize on his marginal boy band talent for as long as possible.
That was until I stumbled upon a show called “Kingdom”, a DirecTV original series. I thought it looked like a “cool” guy show about MMA fighting so I gave it a shot. To my surprise about five minutes in I noticed Nick Jonas sparing in the MMA cage. I immediately thought, “Wow, DirecTV you are really scratching the bottom of the barrel to cast this show”. However, after watching the first episode I realized that this kid does have some real talent. His character has a lot of depth and I felt that he was extremely believable in that role. I was pleasantly surprised by him.
I will now call it like I see it. I WAS WRONG ABOUT NICK JONAS. He is a multi-talented person and although I may not love his music, I definitely respect him as an entertainer now. Heck, maybe now I am even “Jealous” of Nick Jonas and the “B-A” he gets to play in this new show.
